If you are affected by an ERTE or ERE, or have been made redundant, due to the coronavirus crisis, the RD 08/2020 established special conditions which allow you to request the unemployment benefit.
As we are all forced to stay indoors, the Comunidad de Madrid has published an express form which allows users to start the procedure online and as fast as possible. Without having to go to the unemployement offices.
The form can be accessed here, from any device. It just ask for a few personal and contact details, your bank account and some questions about your professional background.
Once sent, the Dirección General del Servicio Público de Empleo will register you as unemployed, and the Servicio de Empleo Público Estatal (SEPE) will arrange for you to receive your unemployment benefit or paro.
NB: If you are affected by an ERTE by corovanirus (the provisional type or ERE), you don’t have to send the form. Your company will communicate the ERTE and SEPE will then receive your data and start the procedure for you.
This form is just for every other case.
